Today, I won’t be talking about stretching. Not the physical kind, at least:) I’m sharing something very special. Something I’ve been using for a while now, especially during the moments when I felt stuck, heavy and emotionally tired without fully understanding why. It’s an easy and gentle way to let go, without forcing, fixing or over-analyzing yourself.
It’s a simple activity. For me it became a doorway to freedom.
Not the loud over-hyped type of freedom but a real and soft one.
Freedom doesn’t always come from starting something new. Sometimes, it comes from finally finishing what your nervous system has already lived through. In life, we often carry experiences long after they’ve served their purpose.
The problem isn’t the experience itself. The real problem is not closing the door when it’s done. Not letting go. “Unfinished experiences” keep asking for energy. Finished ones give it back. It’s also supported by neuroscience, which shows that conscious completion and physical closure help the nervous system release the stored tension and move on.
Here is my special activity to let go and reclaim your freedom.
STEP 1: Name The Stage
Take a sheet of paper. At the top write:
“The stage I am completing”
Then, without explaining write what is ending. For example:
- this emotional state
- this version of you
- this job
- this relationship
- this expectation I’ve had of myself
Don’t analyze. Just name it. Clarity is the first stage of freedom.
STEP 2: Reclaim Your Experience
Create three columns:
- What I was trying to do? (the intention)
- What actually happened? (just the facts, no judgment)
- What I take with me? (the insight, the maturity, the growth)
Unacknowledged experiences turn into pain. Acknowledged experience becomes wisdom.
STEP 3: The Exit Phase
Read slowly out loud:
“This experience is complete. I no longer need to prove, endure or wait. I am free to move forward”.
Step 4: Physical Closure
Choose one grounding action:
- tear the papers
- wash your hands
- go outside
- take a shower or bath
What Happens Next
Over the next few weeks you may notice that your racing thoughts quieten. Your breathing becomes easier, small but meaningful impulses or even unexpected clarity or events. Don’t rush to act. Freedom doesn’t demand immediate decisions, it creates space.
Freedom Is Not Escape
It’s completion. When you let the unfinished experiences go, you finally become available for joy and next aligned chapter.
Welcome back to yourself. Welcome to FAUVISTA.
